Room Description
After travelling a short distance deeper into the mine, you have come to a T intersection. Directly infront of you, you see a stack of mining carts, piled up against the wall.
Encounter!
Enemies
a) Orc Raider (mm 4e - pg 203)
b) Orc Raider (mm 4e - pg 203)
Conditions
Roll a perception check vs the orc raiders stealth check (use dexterity modifier). If you spot the raiders, start combat normally. If you dont spot the Raiders, move your PC's until they are in the intersection area, with which both orcs attack and are granted a surprise round.
Also, the orange line is a trip wire and triggers a small cave in (covert squares with orange line into difficult terrain). View pg 87 of DMG 4e 'Rockslide' for details about the trap (reduce DC's by 5). (The Rockslide in the DMG is a hazard, treat this as a trap). if spotted the trap can be deactivated with a DC18 Thievery check, otherwise your pc's dont see the trap and trigger it.
Tactics
The Raiders are trying to lure the PC's into the trap. They will not move from their positions behind the wooden supports, until they run out of ammo. The raiders do not trigger the trap if they pass over it.
Mining carts provide cover for PC's (Object 4).
